By accessing this website, browsing our products, or purchasing from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, together with any other policies linked on this website, including our Privacy Policy, Delivery Policy, Refund Policy and Host Responsibility information.

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc., which provides the e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services online.

3. Alcohol sales

Newbee Meadery Limited trading as Newbee Meadery sells alcohol by remote online sale only. You must be 18 years of age or over to access this website, purchase alcohol from us, or receive alcohol ordered from us.

By placing an order, you confirm that:

  • you are 18 years of age or over;
  • the person receiving the order is also 18 years of age or over;
  • you are not purchasing alcohol on behalf of a minor;
  • you will not supply alcohol to a minor;
  • the information you provide during checkout is true and accurate;
  • you agree to comply with these Terms of Service.

It is against the law in New Zealand to sell or supply alcohol to a person under 18 years of age.

5. Age verification and delivery

Delivery may require age verification. The person receiving an alcohol order may be required to provide approved photo identification showing they are 18 years of age or over.

Accepted forms of ID may include:

  • New Zealand driver licence;
  • passport;
  • Kiwi Access Card;

Delivery may be refused if:

  • the receiver cannot provide suitable ID when requested;
  • the receiver appears to be under 18;
  • the receiver appears intoxicated;
  • the delivery would breach the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012;
  • the delivery would breach any licence condition;
  • we reasonably consider the order to be unsafe, unlawful or inappropriate.

If delivery is refused, we may cancel, refund, partially refund, hold, return, or re-arrange the order at our discretion, subject to our legal obligations and any delivery costs already incurred.

6. Delivery restrictions

Alcohol orders may be placed online at any time, subject to website availability and licence conditions.

Alcohol will not be delivered after 11:00 pm or before 6:00 am.

Alcohol will also not be delivered or dispatched from the licensed premises on:

  • Good Friday;
  • Christmas Day;
  • before 1:00 pm on Anzac Day;
  • Easter Sunday, unless permitted by law or licence conditions.

7. Delivery and dispatch

We currently deliver within New Zealand only, unless otherwise stated.

Orders will be dispatched by courier or delivered by the licensee, duty manager, or suitably trained authorised staff in accordance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and any licence conditions.

Couriers used for alcohol orders must support age-verification delivery, such as R18 ticket or equivalent age-verification services.

No customer collection or pickup is available from the premises. The premises do not operate as a shop, tasting room, cellar door or public retail area.

Delivery timeframes shown on the website are estimates only. We will make reasonable efforts to dispatch orders promptly, but we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, public holidays, incorrect delivery details, access issues, or events outside our control.

You are responsible for providing accurate delivery details. We may charge additional delivery costs if an order must be redirected, returned or re-sent due to incorrect information or failed delivery.

8. Orders and payment

Each order is treated as a separate transaction. This is not an ongoing subscription unless a subscription product or recurring order service is clearly offered and accepted by you.

We accept payment through the payment methods made available at checkout. Your account will be charged in New Zealand dollars.

We reserve the right to refuse, cancel or limit any order, including where:

  • product is unavailable;
  • pricing or product information is incorrect;
  • payment is not authorised;
  • age verification is not completed;
  • we suspect the order may involve unlawful supply to a minor;
  • we suspect a proxy purchase, false details, fraud, misuse or resale;
  • completing the order would breach the law or our licence conditions;
  • completing the order would be inconsistent with responsible alcohol supply.

If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will provide a refund where required, less any lawful deductions such as delivery costs already incurred where appropriate.

9. Product availability and pricing

Product availability, descriptions, images, vintages, batch details, ABV, pricing and promotions may change without notice.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure product information is accurate. However, errors may occur. We reserve the right to correct errors, update information, cancel orders, or refuse orders where information on the website is inaccurate.

All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless otherwise stated.

10. Alcohol product information

Our products may contain alcohol, sulphites and other ingredients used in mead production. Product pages and labels should be read carefully before purchase and consumption.

ABV, volume, standard drinks, batch details and flavour descriptions may vary between products and batches. Product images are for guidance only and may differ from the final product supplied.

11. Refunds, returns and damaged goods

Please choose carefully. We do not offer refunds for change of mind unless required by law.

Please contact us at info@newbee.co.nz if your order is damaged, faulty, incorrect, or does not arrive.

We may offer a replacement, refund, partial refund, or store credit where we accept that:

  • goods were damaged in transit;
  • goods were faulty;
  • the wrong product was supplied;
  • the order was not delivered due to an issue within our reasonable control.

You may need to provide photos, order details, delivery information, and any other information reasonably required to assess the issue.

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986.

12. Responsible drinking and host responsibility

Newbee Meadery Limited trading as Newbee Meadery supports the responsible sale, supply and consumption of alcohol.

We will not knowingly sell, supply or deliver alcohol to minors or intoxicated persons. We may refuse, cancel, refund or partially refund any order where we believe supply would be unlawful, unsafe, or inconsistent with responsible alcohol supply.

13. Website use
